With several school branches in Haikou, Haidian Island, and satellite schools in surrounding villages, HNPLS is always in need of new native English speaking teachers with varying degrees of qualifications. 

Current Openings:

3 Kindergarten Teachers    

HNPLS needs two kindergarten teachers at the Haikou branch in downtown Haikou, and one kindergarten teacher at the Haidian Island branch which is located across the bridge from Haikou proper.

2 Primary School Teachers

HNPLS needs one primary school teacher at the Haikou branch in downtown Haikou, and one kindergarten teacher at the Haidian Island branch which is located across the bridge from Haikou proper.

Student Teachers

HNPLS offers Chinese language students the ability to supplement their expenses and interact with the community through an easy and flexible schedule of teaching local Chinese children on campus. 

General Requirements:

The most important requirement is that you are a native English speaker. Your primary responsibility will be guiding students in English pronunciation, our resident teachers can manage the class curriculum and other responsibilities.

Community Outreach Volunteers

Please Note: Due to the nature of our program, volunteers must be able to teach for a minimum of 6 months. Our program is designed primarily for individuals looking for gap year programs, not short term opportunities.

HNPLS works with the local community and surrounding villages to provide English education to students of all ages. Volunteer to teach English in China and enjoy this country's rich history of ancient civilizations and exciting traditions, as well as contemporary treasures - friendly people, fascinating culture, beautiful scenery and unique cuisine. 

This program is ideal for volunteers who wish to experience the Chinese culture and help Chinese students to learn English in a city with a well developed infrastructure. Your main responsibilities will consist of helping the students practice comprehension and pronunciation.

Program Location:

The Haikou Premier School of Chinese and Foreign Languages is located in Haikou city, the capital of Hainan Island which is famous for its white sand beaches, pristine blue waters and green rainforest highlands, and the infinite colors and characteristics of China's tropical area. We also have branches on Haidian Island and surrounding rural villages throughout Hainan Province, providing volunteers with the ability to work in whatever type of setting they prefer or are most comfortable with.

Costs and Fees:
First 6 Months $300 per month.
Beyond 6 months $200 per month.

Housing Options:

There are three main housing options for volunteers. All meals and housing fees are included.
Urban Campus: live on the HNPLS campus on Haidian Island and teach at the main campus or the nearby Haikou branch. 
Urban Home Stay: live in a local Chinese home on Haidian Island or Haikou City near the campus you will be teaching at. 
Rural Home Stay: live in a local Chinese home in a rural village within 40 miles of Haikou City. 

Visa Information: 

All participants will enter China on a tourist visa. The training school will then convert this into a special visa that will allow you to stay in China for an extended period.

Getting There:

You will need to fly into Haikou International Airport. You will be personally met at the airport on arrival by our coordinator who will transfer your accommodation.
